A Scenic day trip north of Opua

                                                                                                                     late Jan 2014

We took a day off to join Chris and Steve for a jaunt up to Whangaroa Harbour, returning via the coastal route to see the Cavalli islands from the mainland.
We certainly picked a lovely day, and the sights stimulated the urge to sail up there at some later stage! On the way back, we enjoyed a Flounder and chips meal for $6.00…. the cheapest meal we have had in NZ by far.

The pics can do the talking!

  1. How lovely! I have just read through the latest series of blog posts. So glad Mary is over her eye op and recovered.
The Bay of Islands looks a bit like Angra, does it not?

    1. You are quite right Helen about BOI looking like Ilha Grande.. Mary & I made same comment! 4 little differences... water temp,(19degs vs 24 degs!) high mountain backdrop, the wind can blow, and prices here are 3 times higher, with the exception of boat parts!!! Mary's ey op nothing short of miraculous.. thanks for your regular comments. We really appreciate them!
