Jan 2014
After nearly two months of hectic
boat work, with only the occasional foray into
lovely Northland areas, we secured a mooring ball out in the anchorage.
With the strong tidal currents, the unpredictable weather patterns, plus the
rapid organic and crustacean growth, one does not relish extended periods lying
at anchor! A well serviced mooring ball, attached to 3 ton concrete block makes
a lot of sense. At $168 pm, one feels a lot happier about leaving the boat for
odd periods to go camping, exploring, or visiting eye surgeons in Auckland!
So instead of writing my usual
insightful, witty, intelligent and meaningful nonsense…. I will just cheat by
using a few pics with headings to fill the gaps!

Moods..........a sunny day........ |

Misty dawn....... |

Then a front comes through........ |

Mary's way of dealing with the elements.... |

It can't last forever........ |

But at least we are on a mooring as we leave for Auckland
